FBMC Finds New Avenues to Spread Holiday Cheer

Tallahassee, Fla. – December 2020 – Each year, FBMC Benefits Management, Inc. gives back to their community and the communities of its clients. Despite the unique challenges 2020 brought, this year was no exception. From virtual races to an online challenge, FBMC embraced new ways of giving to those in need while maintaining some traditional paths.

To include more communities and help change lives across the nation, FBMC issued an online fundraising challenge to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The company matched each dollar donated by employees. The original goal was met within a day, and the second goal was surpassed quickly as well. In just one week, FBMC raised $6,000 to help bring hope and joy to families of children with cancer.

St. Jude is a leader in the research and treatment of childhood cancer, boasting some of the world’s best survival rates for some of the most aggressive forms of childhood cancer. No family is turned away because they can’t afford treatment, and patients from all 50 states and around the world are treated.

“We’d like to give a huge thank you to our employees and partners for their generosity in supporting this wonderful cause,” said David Faulkenberry, FBMC President and CEO. “I’m so grateful to be part of such a caring company.”

In addition to raising funds for St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, FBMC also offered holiday meals for families staying at the Big Bend Hospice House and the Ronald McDonald House. Furthermore, when a local organization, Elder Care Services, Inc., said their food pantry was bare, FBMC employees responded with bags and boxes of groceries to help save Christmas dinner for the area’s elderly.

The spirit of giving wasn’t limited to the holiday season either. Throughout the year, FBMC contributed to various groups including Big Brothers Big Sisters, Junior Achievement, Second Harvest Food Bank, Girls on the Run, Alzheimer’s Project, Sabal Palm Back to School Drive, Porch de Solomon (school), Mobile Oasis (Texas), Pyramid Studios, Refuge House, the American Heart Association, Project Annie and Making Strides (breast cancer).
